Meet Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Mick Dalton
My name is Mick and I’m the founder of Power Flow Mind. I was fortunate enough some 18 years ago to be introduced to Gestalt Psychotherapy and Mindfulness, and later Meditation (in the Vipassana tradition) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Along with exercise, I have and continue to rely upon on these therapies and practices through the many difficult times throughout my life (which seem to never fully disappear!). These modalities are a deeply effective means of supporting growth by way of seeing things as they really are”. Mick has been in his relationship with his wife for 20 years and they have three young boys. Mick says, “It is fair to say that I have a deep love for supporting individuals, relationships, couples, and groups, by listing and supporting clients to dive into complex, traumatic, and challenging issues, most of all helping people to face the issues they are experiencing in efforts to move through them. Of course topics such as communication, love, connection, rejection, anger, avoidance, sex, trauma, and much more appear in sessions at times, to which I am here to support the clients that engage with me.

A life of meaning and purpose
One on one Counselling and Gestalt Therapy supports you where you are. We can explore whatever is causing you problems right now, and look at relationships in your life along with a wide range of issues. You may be feeling stuck, anxious, fearful, depressed, pressure, or facing addiction. Avoidance, sadness, grief, anger, loss, traumatic events, sex issues, love, work, business, financial complexities, and feeling stuck are common issues that clients present with.
Our intention is that the time we spend together supports you now and allows you to make long-lasting changes or tweaks in your life or relationships. Ultimately our aim is to help you live a less conflicted and more joyful, connected life, and to move forward. I am truly excited by the possibilities that will arise from our work together.
Supporting you in your relationships
I have a deep love for supporting relationships and couples through individual and couples therapy. I can assist you to improve communication, to enhance love, connection and sexual expression, and of course to help you face any anger, resentment, parenting challenges, or the many other issues that come up in most relationships (sometimes often). We also know that not all relationships are destined to be lifelong, so if it has to end (particularly if there are kids involved), we can work on the relationship ending together.
Creating long-lasting, impactful change
I’m not interested in superficial change. I want to hear and support the issues that you are coming to see me about. I recognise that sometimes these can feel painful or embarrassing for people and yet, with our combined commitment, the work that we do can lead to lasting change, but you have to start today and you have to do the work.
It’s time to take the first step
You don’t need to even know why you are coming to see me to be honest. If there is an inclination that it would be helpful to talk with me, then you are probably right. Book an appointment today, the first step is often the hardest, and it’s the one that leads to growth and change
I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
Warm regards,
Mick Dalton
Psychotherapist and Counsellor
Three words come to mind when reflecting on my time working with Michael. Connected, caring and challenging. He’s helped me connect with my body and become aware of feelings and default behaviours. I’ve always felt he cares, showing compassion and support with the things I share. And finally, he challenges me in a respectful and positive way. Playing back my, sometimes messy, thoughts in a way that enables me to find clarity and insight. I’m very grateful for the lessons and insights he’s helped me uncover. He has helped me better understand myself and improved the way I connect with my feelings, thoughts and the people close to me.
